Multi-Location Posting feature allows you to attach up to 8 additional job locations to your single job postings. It also enables your candidates to specify their preferred job location through the application process. This guide provides detailed instructions on enabling and utilising the feature.
Enabling Multi-Location Postings
To enable Multi-Location Posting feature:
1. Navigate to Settings > Additional Features > Custom Settings > Additional softgarden Features.
2. Find the Multi-Location Posting feature at the top and enable it via the toggle.
Note: In case you have active jobs with multi-locations in the system, then you will not be able to turn the feature 'off' until these jobs are closed. In case you disable the multi-location feature while you have draft / closed jobs with additional locations, these jobs will remain in the system only with their primary job location.
Configuring Preferred Location Questions
Once enabled:
1. Click on Configure preferred location questions.
2. This modal is to customize the question content in various languages for the application forms. If you are satisfied with the default wording of the question (What is your preferred location for this job?), no further action is needed. The question will appear in the application form as specified here. There is a default question for every available candidate-facing language in your system.
3. You can adjust the visibility and mandatory / optional status of the question via Settings > Customization > Application Forms. A new field, 'Preferred Location', will now be available. By default, the question will be visible in the application form, and mandatory to answer.
Job Posting Wizard
With the feature enabled, the job posting wizard will now include a new option: Add additional locations.
You are able to add up to 8 additional locations besides the primary job location. Locations can be from any country but should not be duplicates. You can also add multiple street addresses from the same city or region, as long as they are not the exact duplicates.
Job Overview and Detail Pages
Jobs with additional locations will display a 'plus' icon with hover-over popups indicating additional job locations.
Filters and search functionalities will now include these jobs based on all attached locations.
You can update both primary and additional job locations via Job Page > Basic Information > Edit Mode.
Career Sites
Standard Career Sites
Jobs with additional locations can be found based on all available locations on the standard career websites. Candidates will see all locations next to the search result, and on the job (for standard and other job templates).
Your job ad templates (standard job ad templates and copied job ad templates) will now display the full list of locations in the main header. Please also make sure to involve the available job locations in your job description.
In the application form, candidates can provide their preferred job location for multi-location jobs.
Career Site Pro
Customers using Career Site Pro are also able to add additional locations to their job postings.
Additional locations will be displayed on the job cards and job ad pages of your application experience.
Also, the candidates are able to specify their preferred job location while submitting their application.
Custom Career Sites
Customers using custom career websites can utilise the multi-location postings feature via our APIs. Please refer to out API documentation for more details.

Job Boards
StepStone
Our StepStone integration allows jobs to be visible with all additional locations on the job board interface. Accordingly, candidates using StepStone can find jobs with all available locations, and specify their preferred job location.
Indeed
When posting a job to the free Indeed feed that includes multiple locations, the job posting will appear separately for each location in the Indeed interface. For example, if your primary location is listed as 'Berlin' and additional locations as 'Dresden' and 'Frankfurt,' Indeed will automatically create three identical job postings, one for each location. The preferred location of incoming applicants will be automatically assigned based on the location of the job posting they applied to.
Please note that this multiplication logic applies only to free job postings to prevent being charged multiple times.
Other Job Boards
For channels not accepting multiple locations, the primary job location will be used. We are working hard to support more job boards in the near future, and we will keep you updated on the progress.
Receiving Applications
Applications for jobs with multiple locations will include a Preferred Job Location field on the candidate profiles. You can edit or clear the preferred job location in the candidate's profile under general data.
The preferred job location is visible on the application card and the applicant detail page header if available. In case not provided, the primary job location will be displayed.
In the application screening interface, we are introducing the new 'Preferred Location' filter, which will enable you to display and screen candidates who have certain job location preferences.
Manually Added Applications
When adding a candidate manually to a multi-location job, you can specify their preferred job location.
Frequently Asked Questions
We are still using the old design of softgarden. Are we not able to utilise the multi-location postings?
While it is not possible to activate the multi-location posting feature or create jobs with multiple locations using the old design, you can still view the additional location information in the old design. However, please note that applicants will not have the 'preferred job location' field in their profiles in the old view. To access and utilize this feature fully, you will need to switch to the new design.
We are using a custom job ad template created by the standard application form. Am I able to see the additional locations in the job ad?
In order to maintain the integrity of your custom job ad templates, we are only displaying the primary job location by default. However, if you would like to include additional locations in your custom-created job ads, please contact our support team. We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure all job locations are properly indicated.
How does the feature affect external job boards?
For StepStone, jobs will be visible with all additional locations, and the quick apply feature will also connect the preferred job location of the candidate. We've also added the additional locations nodes in our standard XML feed, and we expect more job boards to connect to that in the upcoming weeks. For now, for unsupported channels, only the primary job location will be used.
Is the multi-location posting feature available for agency and referral portals?
No, currently, these portals only support primary job locations.
How does the multi-location job posting feature impact the performance and reports?
Currently, the recruiting KPIs and downloadable reports in the 'Performance' / 'Berichte' section are based only on the primary job location. However, we have updated the applicant report to include a new column, 'Preferred Job Locations', where you can see the preferred location of the candidate if available.
